Apple Volcano by Motron A. Havelka
The remainders of an old apple tree seemed dead since the last harvest of apples long time ago. Hollow inside the trunk gave shelter and home to insects and thus food for birds, until it was time for a change.
For the exhibition "Art in between" at the Old Water Castle of Rottenbauer the Community gave this old wood being to the artist.
Watch the expanding fire and smoke inside the trunk, finding its way out. At last, the old apple tree turned into a volcano, throwing out ashes, firing and smoking out of all openings.
