I grew up in the Neath valley and studied various topics relating to my practice in Neath and Pontypridd, after which I continued studying Fine Art–Painting and Drawing at Swansea University, graduating with first class honors. I have since been involved in the filming, installation and invigilation of Wales' presence in the Venice Biennale for both John Cale’s ‘Dyddiau Du’ exhibition in 2009 and Tim Davies’s exhibition in 2011. I have also completed residencies for SMU and the Arts Council of Wales, run workshops in schools and installed exhibitions for various arts galleries and organisations including Locws International, the Waterfront Museum, Ground, Elysium Gallery and Chapter.

My practice as an artist has always evolved from the landscape around me, using the emotional attachments I have to it as a source of inspiration, communicating an abstracted sense of place. I attempt to capture the essential elements of the space and re-construct them into my own abstracted visual environment. This occurs mostly through the use of light, colour and movement but I have also begun to develop the use of more sculptural forms as well as an understanding of sound within a place. These installations develop from constantly sketching, writing about, photographing and filming the space from which the work is inspired. These different disciplines play a decisive role in a manual editing process which I have been developing. I find that the equipment and its capabilities can often inform the work and begin to dictate the look and feel of the installation. The individual aspects of the work develop a conversation between one and another; confronting, hiding and highlighting its basic elements in a chaotic harmony. The work often draws upon concepts of time, memory and infinity.
