New Frontiers Research Commission

The New Frontiers Project is pleased to announce that the artist Jacob Whittaker has been commissioned to research into developments in recent technologies and how they might be of use to artists both as a means of communication, distribution and promotion, and as media for artforms in their own right.
New Frontiers is a Culture Colony and Aberystwyth Arts Centre initiative, funded by the Arts Council of Wales, that will develop from Jacob's research. Later this year training opportunities in the use of video will also be announced as the next stage of the New Frontiers initiative. The research and the training is planned to result in the New Frontiers Arts Festival in Aberystwyth during 2013.
When complete, Jacob's research will be available to all through the Culture Colony web site. It is hoped that this document will begin a wider discussion through Culture Colony about the arts and new technologies within the creative community in Wales and contribute to the plans for the 2013 Arts Festival.
