17th June 2011
Nearly 300 of the world's leading art galleries for Modern and contemporary art display 20th- and 21st-century artworks. Visitors to Art Basel's main exhibition hall can discover paintings, drawings, sculpture, installations, prints, photography, video and digital art by more than 2,500 artists. The pieces available range from editioned works by emerging artists to museum-caliber masterpieces by legendary figures in art history.
For collectors and galleries looking for innovation and a new approach there is a section at the fair devoted to emerging artists and rising galleries on the world stage - Art Statements has a reputation of developing the careers of artists and bringing them into the global arena.
Launched in 2000, Art Unlimited is Art Basel's pioneering exhibition platform for projects that transcend the classical art-show stand - including video projections, large-scale installations, massive sculptures and live performances. Selected by the Art Basel Committee, it has been curated since its inception by Geneva curator Simon Lamunière.
Annely Juda Fine Art, London and Galerie Lelong, Paris have joined forces to exhibit David Nash at the prestigious Art Unlimited.

Black Dome 2011 by David Nash
The forms in 'Black Dome' have very strong individual characteristics, and a couple are eight feet tall. In what appears to be a departure from Nash's usual regimentation of individual pieces according to their size in his Dome sculptures this Black Dome has an anarchistic aura about it as these huge black shapes find their own place in the pristine white box of the exhibition space.
