Y Lle Celf Goes Underground
28th January 2010
Y Lle Celf will be going underground at the Blaenau Gwent and Heads of the Valleys National Eisteddfod, consolidating its place at the heart of the excitement for the 2010 cultural festival.

Because this years Eisteddfod is being held on the site of old steelworks in Ebbw Vale it's possible to use some of the unique facilities that are available in these industrial buildings - in this case, the buildings under ground that used to house the heavy steel rolling equipment. It takes a leap of the imagination but when the water has been pumped out, a ramp has been erected and a roof placed overhead, the 'stack annealer basement' will be the home for Y Lle Celf this year.

This means that there will be ample room to display art and a huge space to allow larger works into the exhibition if necessary.
In the meantime the deadline for applications to exhibit is fast approaching and on the 14th of February 2010 the Visual Arts Exhibition will close to entries.
More information and application forms to join the selection process for the exhibition can be found at the Eisteddfod website and downloaded.
