New Head of Contemporary Music Announced

Congratulations to BAFTA Cymru winner John Hardy who has recently been announced as the new Head of Contemporary Music, Composition and Creative Music Technology at the Royal Welsh College Of Music & Drama in Cardiff. John has written original music for broadcast for over 140 features, drama series and documentaries. For 7 years, he was Musical Director of the theatre company, Brith Gof, which delivered site-specific performances with scores performed by Test Dept.
He is very excited about this opportunity to explore creativity in new ways with fantastically talented students, and wonderfully inspiring members of staff, within a college that is changing physically (a new theatre and a beautiful small concert hall are in the process of being built now) and growing into a radical new vision of what music-making can become in the 21st century.
John will be continuing his own creative work - in fact he intends to increase his output of concert and collaborative works.
