THe Great Outdoors 2012
1st June 2012
PRESS RELEASE
Calling all Wales based Outdoor Arts Practitioners, Funders, Festivals and Venues - an important date for your diary! This October 12th Articulture Wales presents ‘The Great Outdoors 2012’, Wales’s first National Conference for Outdoor Performance, in Machynlleth, Mid Wales.
Created with and featuring key speakers from leading organisations including the Arts Council Wales, Independent Street Arts Network, National Theatre Wales, Walk The Plank, Citrus Arts, Emergency Exit Arts, and NoFitState Circus, The Great Outdoors aims to spark ambitious new works across all outdoor art forms here in Wales, by providing a platform to network, share and develop ideas, access funding, and forge collaborations. This includes street theatre, carnival, procession, puppetry, circus, and arts installation.

Llyn Peninsula
The Great Outdoors was initiated to unite Welsh outdoor arts practitioners who are currently widely dispersed across Wales. It recognises that despite an exceptional resource of successful artists and organisations, and Welsh funding dedicated to the form, this dispersal needs to be addressed to ensure a vibrant future for Outdoor Performance in Wales.
