MADE IN ROATH 2015 - 20 exhibitions, 17 open houses, 4 open studios. Main event: ROADBLOCK: Plasnewydd Road on Sat 17 October11 5pm Made in Roath is upon Cardiff again, taking place all this week. The highlight of this year s festival will be ROADBLOCK the bubbling hub of community creativity located on a suburban street. Turn up and find MiR on Plasnewydd Road, which will be festooned with banners and bunting, and overtaken by stages and stalls and tables and tents with the fun spilling out across the whole of Albany Road and beyond. The whole of the day will be filled with theatre, music, dancing, art, sharing and learning. Children and adults alike can join in skill sharing workshops, or spin painting, or clay pot throwing. You can find out things you never knew about Roath with the Local History Society or about living sustainably from Roath FEAST. You can learn a new skill or join the pedal powered disco or take part in Exchange in Roath s free swap shop. This isn t your usual street festival, indeed, all activities are free and run by people from across our wonderful, diverse and creative community, and whatever your age, you ll find something for you! Maybe you ll want to meet up with neighbours over a coffee at one of the refreshment stalls to watch performances or a song from our stage of local talented young musicians. Perhaps you ll watch some budding artists creating mini masterpieces at the easels dotted around or the new green fingers being nurtured at our seedling give away. You re welcome to take part in as much as you want, try something new, or simply come along, browse and enjoy the day. Pop along to the madeinroath information stall, where you can find out about all that s going on over the festival weekend where to go next, what to see and do, and how you can become involved in the festival. You ll probably end up making your own unique badge to take away too... ROADBLOCK is the party, a day when Roathians and Cardiffians and Everyone can gather together for a day and the generosity, talent and creativity of Roath's community is revealed and celebrated.
