Ian Watson is pushing the boundaries of his art practice by hosting a series of live musical and visual arts events in Arcadecardiff's gallery space throughout February.

Ian Watson invites you to join him as he explores the possibilities of musical and visual collaboration during his artist residency at Arcadecardiff. In the lead up to his new exhibition End to End Burners, which will open in the gallery space with a private view on 18 January, Watson invites collaborators to come and perform for our delectation.

Watson told CCQ: "These [performances] will relate to the work being shown in my forthcoming show and consist of friends made through working with sound and live performances in interesting spaces. They are all also influences on my own practice. The work in the show is, simply-put all about presenting sound and addressing some of the difficulties of performing atypical music..."

Watson promises plenty of exhilarating 3D, video and sound works and guarantees there will be no static drawings.

The events begin on 16 February when duo Star Turbine will grace the space with their musical offerings. The band will perform three back-to-back after-hours sets that will commence at 6pm.

Following this performance, on 20 February from 2pm Watson will present a video mix, accompanied by his own visuals remixed live by Form Constants, the analog synth and video duo featuring Aidan Taylor (Ginko) and Kim DeCosta (visuals).

Finally, on 27 February from 2pm-4pm there will be two performances. Stuart Chalmers (aka. Skarabee) will be working with tape cassettes and acoustic sounds in the first.

Seth Cooke will follow Chalmers' set with feedback, percussion and spacial effects - CCQ has been assured that the work really has to be seen to be understood.

'End to End Burners' will run from 18 February 5 March 2016 at Arcadecardiff, alongside a programme of live events. Admission is free.
