"In the article 'Walls Without Museums; Anonymous History, Collective Authorship and the Document", Ben Highmore introduces us to the notion of the document, and the practice of 'documenting', observing closely the simliarities to an 'anthropologist working with a view of Culture'. He explains that: The document is in a yet-to-be-ordered state, and in as much as documents remain relatively unfixed within a practice (and perhaps relatively recalcitrant to being fixed), we could think of this practice as documenting rather than documentary, in the context of the twentieth century a document might be an advert from a us magazine, a photograph, a diary, and x-ray photograph of a jeep, a map of a dream, an itinerary of a day and so on.."
The Red String of Destiny / The Black Bond of Limerance.
Through the process of connection, disconnection & reconnection, this is a new body of work that explores bonding with another and the affect of limerance bonding has on that connection. A Memo For Lovers Past & Present 2012 is the beginning of this series celebrating the document, the research, the process, the text, the image, the chance, and forever loving the archive lol :)
