ADAIN AVION
Adain Avion is a mobile art space created from the fuselage of a DC-9 airplane, discovered and transformed by Spanish sculptor and designer Eduardo Cajal. Welsh artist Marc Rees will celebrate its twentieth anniversary by bringing Avion to Wales in the summer of 2012. Swansea, 24-30 June Ebbw Vale, 1-7 July Llandudno, 8-14 July Llandow 4-11 August.
Adain Avion is Wales's Artists taking the lead commission, funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council of Wales, included in the London 2012 Festival and part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad.
Sunday 24 June - Saturday 30 June 2012.
Sited outside the National Waterfront Museum and next to the Leisure Centre, Swansea is the first destination in the Adain Avion itinerary around Wales.
Swansea of OldWe are working closely with our co-producing partners Taliesin Arts Centre and the City and County of Swansea to make sure the arrival of Adain Avion in Wales a spectacular success.
We will be collaborating with local artists, community groups and organisations including the National Waterfront Museum. We will also be integrating Taliesin's innovative programme Dance Days, which brings internationally acclaimed dance artists to Swansea each year.
