These sixteen artists and their books have brought to fruition Mary Husted’s vision. Open Book is a fascinating and engaging exhibition which will challenge the concept of book, celebrating its potential at a time when there is a serious concern for its very survival in the age of Kindle and e-publishing. These works on paper may be viewed on line; but one can only truly engage with their particular power by walking around them and reading their signs, words and images, on real paper. read more

I suppose I'm in a privileged position to comment as I think I'm the only non ACW employee to have attended all four events. As Culture Colony was commissioned to document the events and record comments from delegates who wished to contribute to the discussion via video, I have also heard the views of many people too, opinions that may otherwise have gone unsaid and certainly unrecorded. read more

Last month I completed the Welsh Arts Critics' Development Programme with Wales Arts International and Visiting Arts. Four new critics - Lowri Hâf Cooke, Amelia Forsbrook, Dylan Moore and myself - took part in the 6-month programme which was designed to develop coverage and critical discussion of Welsh arts. In the beginning... It began with a two day intensive workshop with former arts journalist Linda Christmas, renowned cultural commentator Jon Gower and programme mentors Jasmine Donahaye (then editor, Planet Magazine) and Elisabeth Mahoney (theatre and radio critic, The Guardian). The workshop and subsequent bespoke programme provided an opportunity to critique work together and explore the role of the art critic. read more

Yesturday was our three year anniversary, I spent most the day wondering the streets of Venice thinking about how much I loved him, how much I missed him, what were my top ten fav things about him. Watching other couples being romantic and watching friends joke-around.
